an overview... there are multiple structures on the property, including the main house (which has a lot of vibes), barn, and a-frame.

on the first floor you'll find... a foyer / exhibit space (which is in constant flux due to visiting artists and student rotations), a living room which is where most meals are taken, a dining room typically reserved for special occasions (including weekly family dinners), a kitchen, the master bedroom, a study / office, and multiple bathrooms.

meanwhile, on the second floor... you'll find a multitude of guestrooms: one, two, three, four, and five! you can also find a library / communal space (complete with a record player), and tucked away in the attic is a small studio!

and around the farm we have... the apiary (which is located at the center of the garden). there are a number of animals on the farm as well! horses and donkeys can be found at the stables, pigs in a pen, apfelbienen's beloved rooster strawberry can be found at the chicken coop. there are a number of quail nests around the farm, as well as a goat and rabbits!
welcome to apfelbienen! owned and maintained by leroy sommer and henrietta preobrazhensky, apfelbienen (literally: apple bees) is a 30 acre farm outside of cologne, germany. purchased by roy in september of 2020, it's intended to function as an apple orchard, an apiary, a horse sanctuary, and an artists' residency (view pics for aesthetic vibes here!).

apfelbienen hosts a new exhibit featuring the six artists in residence as well as artists of note. a new exhibit opens at the beginning of each season around the time of their respective equinoxes/solstices.
